These Terms and Conditions (the “Terms”) govern your use of this website, our emails, our community, our products, and any service or application we may offer in the future. We call all of these the “Services.” Please read these Terms carefully. By using the Services, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
Who we are
The Services are operated by Bill G. Wolcott, author of Half-Raised. You can reach us through our contact page.
Eligibility and age
You must be at least 16 years old to use the Services, and old enough to form a binding contract where you live. By using the Services, you confirm that you meet these requirements.
Your account and membership
Some features require an account or membership. You agree to give accurate information, to keep your login details private, and to be responsible for everything that happens under your account. Tell us right away if you believe your account has been used without your permission. We may suspend or close accounts that break these Terms.
Acceptable use
When you use the Services, you agree not to:
- Break any law or encourage others to do so.
- Harass, threaten, bully, or harm another person.
- Post hateful, abusive, obscene, or violent content.
- Impersonate anyone or misrepresent who you are.
- Post spam, advertising, or scams.
- Upload viruses or attempt to disrupt, hack, or overload the Services.
- Collect other people’s information without permission.
- Use the Services in any way that is unfair to others or to us.
Community standards
Our comments, message boards, blog, and other community features are meant to be a supportive place. You are responsible for what you post. We may review, moderate, edit, hide, or remove any content, and we may limit or remove anyone, at our discretion, to keep the community safe. We are not required to monitor content, but we may. Please treat others with respect, and do not share private information about yourself or anyone else.
Your content and the license you give us
You keep ownership of the content you post. By posting, you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, reproduce, and share that content as part of operating and promoting the Services. You confirm that you have the right to post what you share and that it does not break the law or these Terms. You can remove your content, although copies may remain in backups or where others have shared it.
Our intellectual property
The Services and their content, including the book Half-Raised, excerpts, writing, audio, images, design, and logos, are owned by Bill G. Wolcott or used with permission and are protected by copyright and other laws. You may read and share content for personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, republish, sell, or create derivative works from our content without our written permission.
Purchases, digital products, and refunds
If you buy a product, the price, description, and any delivery details are shown at checkout. Payments are handled by a third-party payment processor, and you agree to their terms as well. Digital products, including ebooks and audio, are licensed to you for personal use, not sold, and may not be shared or resold. Please add your specific refund, return, and delivery terms here. Where a sale is subject to a specific refund policy, that policy will be shown at the time of purchase.
Email and communications
When you join a list or create an account, you agree to receive emails related to the Services. Marketing emails include an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time. We may still send you important messages about your account or purchases.
Our mobile application
We may offer a mobile application in the future. Additional terms, app-store rules, and an in-app notice may apply to the app. Where there is a conflict, the terms provided with the app will govern your use of the app.

The Services are for storytelling, reflection, and community. They are not medical, psychological, legal, or other professional advice. Reading this site is not a substitute for care from a qualified professional, and using the Services does not create any kind of professional relationship.

Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Bill G. Wolcott will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Services. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us, if any, in the twelve months before the claim.
Indemnification
You agree to defend and hold harmless Bill G. Wolcott from any claims, losses, or expenses, including reasonable legal fees, that arise from your use of the Services, your content, or your breach of these Terms.
Third-party links and services
The Services may link to or rely on third-party websites and services. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or practices. Your use of them is at your own risk and subject to their terms.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or end your access to the Services at any time, with or without notice, if you break these Terms or if we need to protect the Services or others. You may stop using the Services at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive, such as intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability, will continue to apply.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which we operate, without regard to conflict of law rules. Please add your specific state and any dispute resolution or arbitration terms here.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The latest version will always be posted on this page with a new “last updated” date. By continuing to use the Services after a change, you agree to the updated Terms.
