Is it possible to forgive somebody and still not want them near you, or does one cancel the other?

Absolutely. Forgiveness and access are two different things. You can forgive someone for your own peace and still decide they no longer deserve a place in your life. Forgiveness doesn't mean forgetting, trusting again, or reopening a door you worked hard to close.

Forgiveness doesn’t mean reconnecting. It means prayers for them in all good things ❀️

I think so. There are a lot of people I don’t care to be around and most of them have done nothing to forgive.

Exactly. You can forgive someone without giving them the same access they once had. Forgiveness brings peace; boundaries protect it. πŸ’―

Absolutely possible. You can forgive but it’s not always wise to forget.

I forgive my kids dad but I want him removed from my life so my kids and I can heal

You can forgive for your peace of mind and have a boundary for your safety or mental health. You are not required to set yourself up for continued abuse.

I'll forgive the snake for biting me, but I'll always remember they're a snake

Forgiving doesn't work that way. Either you forgive and it is all washed away, or you don't and hold a grudge, never forget, and keep away from them. There is no in between.

Quoted here and you'd rather not be? Say so and it comes down.
